Working remotely during the pandemic…
When it comes to working from home, we’ve always adopted a flexible approach to work, so luckily for us, at the start of the pandemic, we were already set up for remote working – although I don’t think any of us expected it to be for this long!
We migrated to Office 365 back in 2019, and that has been a strong foundation to build our remote working platform on, combined with internal comms and the great teamwork we’ve always achieved at fresh. Just as we encourage face to face communication in the office (instead of email overload), we encourage the same at home, via video chat. The use of the chat facility in Teams can also lessen the formality if it’s just a quick question to ask someone. We’ve had full business Teams calls, and just as we’ve created virtual worlds for our clients, and moved large scale live events online, we’re currently preparing to the do the same for our Christmas party. And then there are the more general aspects – we’ve made sure the team have office chairs, second screens and any other equipment they need to be comfortable.
Keeping in touch, and ensuring the team have the right tools, have been the two key signifiers of successful remote working, as well as the positive, focused attitude we always have from our freshers. It’s been a tough year, especially for the live events sector, but as usual, the determination and hard work of our team always delivers has created award winning work, even during a global pandemic. We’ve won four awards during this period, three of them for our virtual events, and we’re really proud of everything the team have achieved remotely – socially distanced, but always together.
